The European Day of Languages

Hi kids,
The European Day of Languages takes place on 26th September. It aims to celebrate more than 6000 languages that are spoken in the world, as well as the different cultures of those who speak them all. Learning a different language is understanding a different culture.
Newbury Park Primary School have lots of  online video clips showing children speaking a wide variety of languages. You can learn your first words in many different languages. You have to choose a language and you can appreciate the excitement of learning a foreign language.

Klimt yourself !

Hi guys,
I think it´s important to learn about the artists who have shaped our modern world through their creations!.
This year marks the 150th anniversary of Gustav Klimt's birthday, and museums around the world are celebrating his work.Gustav Klimt (July 14, 1862 - February 6, 1918) was an Austrian Symbolist painter.
The Kiss is Gustav Klimt's most famous painting.
There are plenty of ways to use art as a vehicle to learn English and have fun in the process: "Klimt Yourself" if you want to see what you'd look like in one of his paintings.
*Select a work of art: "The Kiss", "Judith I" or "the Beethoven Frieze (The Hostile Forces)"
*Upload your own photo
* Edit the photo
* Share your creation and describe on your blog.

Hello, hello ! You´ve got a friend in me.

Hi guys,

Two songs to welcome all my pupils back to school.
The first one is " Hello, hello" by Dan Zanes.
The other song is called " You´ve got a friend in me" .
Believe it or not, teachers are always thinking of you.

Lyrics:
Every day brings more
than the day before
open any door
and say hello hello hello.

It’s the same bright sun
shines on everyone
and though the clouds may come
just say hello hello hello

Every day is new
so wonderous and true
and a friend comes wandering through
and says hello hello hello.

I spy with my little eye
my shoes grew wings and learned to fly
up into the morning sky,
and they said hello hello hello
my shoes just said hello hello hello
my friends just said hello.

Going back to school with a positive attitude!

Homework

Hi again!.

I know, relax time is over!. With the new school year right around the corner, it’s time to prepare you for the transition back to the classroom. There are ways to make the return to school less stressful : choose a nice school bag, school clothes and supplies, begin wake-up and bedtime routines a few weeks before school starts, talk to your parents about school and your classmates. Most important, remember that if you have a positive attitude towards school, sucess follows. It´s a good moment to start doing our best.
Answer these questions about you and your school:
What grade are you in this year?
What do you like/dislike about your teacher(s) this year?
What qualities would the perfect teacher have?
Are there any new teachers or kids? What do you think about them?
If you could be in any grade, what grade would you be in? Why?
What is your favorite subject? Why?
What is your favorite time of day at school?
What are your goals for this year?.
Now, watch these kids talking about they like best about school.
See you at school, guys!.
