This animated short about literacy introduces us to Meena, a young girl who hates books even though her parents love to read. Books are everywhere in Meena's house, in cupboards, drawers and even piled up on the stairs. Still, she refuses to even open one up. But when her cat Max accidentally knocks down a huge stack, pandemonium ensues and nothing is ever the same again.

Tomorrow is World Book Day.  Everyone loves books and World Book Day is set aside each year to celebrate reading, books, authors and illustrators.

Miguel de Cervantes , William Shakespeare and Garcilaso de la Vega died on a 23 rd April. But even more. other important writers such as Vladimir Nabokov , Josep Pla or Maurice Druon were born or died on that date. For these reasons, this date - 23rd April -which is a symbol for universal literature was chosen by UNESCO to celebrate World Book Day.
I hope you love reading, like I do!!!  I can't think about my life without books around me.

Book Day 2012

Reading is Fundamental has an excellent new music video to promote reading. April 23 is a special day . It´s World Book and Copyright Day. It is a celebration created in 1995 by UNESCO . It´s a world tribute to books and authors who have contributed to the progress of humanity, to encourage reading and a love of books and to discover the pleasure of reading.

What should we read a book?. There are one hundred reasons for reading a book. Here you´ve got a slideshow with some of these reasons.

Books and Flowers.

April 23rd was declared an International Day of the Book in 1995. On this date and in the same year of 1616 Cervantes and Shakespeare died.The idea for this celebration originated in Catalonia, where on 23 April, Saint George´s Day , people exchange books and roses between them." A rose for love and a book forever".
I love this idea : books and roses.To celebrate this date you can create a flower like mine clicking on the flower image (Sorry, it isn´t a rose).The slideshow is about classic books for kids.I hope you like the idea (flowers and books online).
