Halloween Bulletin Board

Every year we tend to go a bit crazy with the Halloween decorations and our bulletin boards are no exception. Here is our big Halloween bulletin board that we worked on this week. We made some monsters like Frankenstein, a mummy and Dracula.We hope you like it.

Halloween vocabulary

Hi guys,
It´s that time of year again, when ghouls come out to play, pumpkins are carved and spooky things happen!. Halloween is just around the corner and we have one week ahead to put in practice many activities related to this festival. And we´re going to start with a video to review vocabulary.

Go away, Big Green Monster! by Ed Emberley

This year we are going to dedicate our Halloween activities to the monsters , that´s why the school decoration has got some.

Our own version of the green monster

One of the most famous monsters  for kids is the big green monster. Here is a scary and funny story about a special monster that obeys when you tell it to go away. This story is " Go away Big Green Monster" by ED Emberley.

 On each page of the book, one characteristic of the monster is added. First we see his two big yellow eyes, then his long nose, and so it continues until the monster is finally complete with his big SCARY green face. But. . . . You don't scare me!

Halloween with Meg and Mog

Hi guys,

The witch Meg and her cat Mog stayed at our English classroom for several days . We read the book, watched a video , described her etc

* This year we celebrated Halloween with a creative, cute and spooky bulletin board that focus on Meg and Mog, one of the most famous witches.. Here you can see the result.

*At Halloween we can see witches like Meg everywhere but, do you know what a witch is?. Listen to the video and find out. Learn more words to describe Meg.

* Meg and Mog are the heroes of a series of children´s books written by Helen Nicoll and illustrated by Jan Pienkowski. He has a great website :http://www.janpienkowski.com/ . There are lots of fantastic activities to do, word searches, colour /art etc.

* We celebrated our Jack - o- Lantern exhition in the school hall too . Every year you and your parents surprise us with your awesome " creations". I´d like to thank everyone for your effort.

Yes!. I´m  sure! . Halloween is round the corner. And Halloween has inspired fantastic poems.  Here you can find  my own  version of the traditional folk tale " In a dark, dark wood".  It will be a good exercise to draw and write what is found in the box at the end of the poem.
