Malala: From a schoolgirl to a Nobel Peace Prize winner

Hi guys,

To celebrate The School Day of Peace I want to  talk about people who have made a difference to the world in a positive way.
Imagine you are an eleven-year-old girl, and the people in control say you may not go to school. What would you do? Would you speak out against your treatment? Would you risk your life for an education? Malala Yousafzai did all of these things.

 * Read the story of her incredible bravery and her work to support every child’s right to an education. Malala became the youngest person to be awarded Nobel Peace Prize for her work on children´s rights.

I'm Quite Unique (Celebrating Our Differences)

Hi guys,
Next January 30th is School Day of Peace and Non-Violence. I think Peace starts in the classroom. Respect for diversity is the starting point for peaceful co- existence. Let´s start to plant the seeds of PEACE: Exploring and celebrating our differences. If we learn to accept and respect each others´differences we can live together in PEACE.
1.- A video to inspire kids to celebrate their differences and appreciate what makes them unique.

2.-   A poem " I AM Me".

3.- A book: It´s Ok to be different by Todd Parr.

We are going to create our classroom book with our own ideas starting with the same sentence It´s OK....

Make an origami peace crane.

Hi guys,
An ancient Japanese legend promise that if you fold a thousand origami cranes, then your greatest wish come true.
I´m going to tell you the story of Sadako. It´s a very sad story. Ten years after the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, twelve years old Sadako became ill with radiation sickness. Sadako´s greatest wish was to live and so she started folding origami cranes. Sadly she died before she could make a thousand. Her friends and classmates folded the remaining cranes and she was buried with them.
The origami crane became a symbol of Peace.Click here and make a peace crane. This animation is dedicated to the memory of Sadako.
I hope you all enjoy folding origami cranes.

Hi there!.
It's easy to introduce peace as an important life objective to children at an early age through peace arts and crafts. Participating in art activities online with peace themes provides opportunities for you to learn important lessons about harmony, respect, and peaceful coexistence. What´s Peace to you?.
1. Display a message of Peace. Choose one slogan or word that represent your vision of Peace.
Find out an image and write your word or your message. Upload your photo and create your message. Click on create, and download your poster and post it on your blog.
