Bonfire Night.


Hi guys!

November the 5th is a special night in U.K. It´s Guy Fawkes Day /Night. This holiday is also called Bonfire Night. They "celebrate" the discovery of the Gunpowder Plot against the King and Parliament in the early 17th century.Guy Fawkes was one of the perpetrators of the Gunpowder Plot, but for some reason is the one that is remember.
People enjoy a good bonfire, firework display , sausages roasted in the fire, jacket potatoes and toffee apples .
Children make life-sizes effigies of Guy Fawkes which are called Guys, to put onto the bonfires.
Learn more about this celebration with these activities:

1.-Listen. Jenny explains how she used celebrate Guy Fakes on November 5th.

2. Design your own fireworks display.Choose style and colours for up to fireworks bursts, then sit down and watch the show you´ve created online. Remember, fireworks are pretty to look at but very dangerous to touch.
3.Create a poster about firework safety.
